Gleeful Things is a very indie business. Everything from designing the patterns to the website is done by one person. That would be me, Julie! :) I'm 25 and live in Southern California. In the past, I've dabbled in just about everything artsy/crafty. A few years ago, I started crocheting and have since been too addicted to it to do much else!

I'm a huge toy junkie and have a collection of about 400 My Little Ponies and various other 80's toys. My obsession with toys was what got me interested in amigurumi. Originally, I started designing plushies but I got sick of hand embroidering eyes and other details on them. This was about the same time as when I started crocheting so naturally, amigurumi interested me.

I've never been good at following patterns, even as a kid I gave everything I made my own personal touches or just went with my own design completely. So writing my own crochet patterns came naturally. Sometime in 2006, I started Gleeful Things as a place to sell my patterns and the stuff that I make with them. I eventually plan on selling plushie (sewing) patterns as well.
